Luke’s Big Hole



The start: Luke wanted a comfy place to lie down. He decided digging was fun and started going deep. 

Braedan and Elise took an interest and took over while Luke rested. 

Nathan joined the team and sand really started flying. Luke was in over his head so Braedan and Nathan found a rope to use to get in or out.

It was when Caleb and Jill saw a dead body by the lake that we worried we might see police or rangers on our site to interview them- and a hole that big might get us into trouble. The hole was filled in much less time than it took to make. We had help from Uncle Harold’s kids, who spent two nights with us.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
