Sports Day

The day after dental surgery was Sports Day. Elise went and did her best, stopping to see me twice because her mouth hurt. I exempted her from the long run. I forgot to buy her Gatorade- so I called my mom, who stopped on the way and made her granddaughter very happy! Luke preferred water. He also preferred no Sports Day. Last year they announced no more Sports Days for middle school and Luke rejoiced. This year, they decided that was no fun and participation was required, although, with more choice on events. Luke threw discus, shot put and javelin, did not run the long run or do high jump. I think he enjoyed the day, especially the games after lunch.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
