Oops- VanDusen Gardens

At a fundraiser for Ag in the Classroom, we bought passes for four to the UBC Botanical Gardens. Dad and I decided to take our parents there on an outing for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. We chose Monday, June 6, as Opa and Oma were leaving for Smithers on Wednesday… till the end of June! We needed to go on a day when the kids were in school, so Monday it was. Dad checked the hours and off we went to pick up parents and head to Vancouver. While driving, we discovered Dad had assumed it was the VanDusen Gardens! Ooooppps- sure enough the UBC Gardens are closed Mondays. So we had to change our schedules lane to enjoy a day out at a different garden than we had passes for. Well, I guess we get to go on an outing again in September.
It was a beautiful day!

Altercation: the geese did not think they needed to step aside for Dad. 😂

This was one of the favourite spots for the garden loving parents. So many food options to admire!

These chairs were fun, but a bit too big.

And the highlight of the day happened at lunch, where the grandmothers were discussing plants. Oma said she wanted to get some really big trees to block the neighbours. Grandma said, “Which ones?” 😂
