Elise’s Dental Surgery
Elise had a very bad tooth. It gave her toothaches nearly every day, but in order to have general anesthetic, she had to wait five months for treatment. Finally, all the nights needing ice packs were over and the big day (May 25, 2023) arrived.
While we drove to Vancouver, she made this card. ❤️
Picking a prize after the procedure was a daunting task. Elise woke up feeling very sorry for herself and for one hour was very tense and complainy. Once we were halfway home, she finally relaxed.
For a few days, she had some bleeding, some aching, and she couldn’t use a straw, but overal we were just super relieved to have it all behind us.
She had an extraction, four crowns, three sealants, and a white filling. We learned she is missing the adult molar in the extraction site and that a spacer couldn’t be attached to the neighbouring tooth as it didn’t erupt enough. It and two other molars are still anchored in bone. (Ankylose teeth) Problem after problem! So now she needs to see Dr. Stonecypher to make a new plan.
