Wierenga Family Visit






A mere day after arriving home, we hosted Dan and Rochelle Wierenga and their six kids, Miriam and five boys. It was very busy! It was fun to have them though. They had to attend a Span family wedding with no family out here able to host them. They all slept in the playroom as we had Braedan and Stacy in the guestroom. Dan grows bison for other people and was happy to share meat with us. Yum! Tender, low fat- we all enjoyed it. 
The boys liked Dennis, Caleb and Luke. Elise liked having a girl around to play with. I’m not sure who was saddest to say goodbye. 
Rochelle was pregnant, due in July. However, she had little Wyatt only a few days after leaving here. Her next month was spent in Calgary, hours from Lacombe and her family.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
