Off to Smithers-minus Dad


We were getting new chicks, so Dad had to drive home from PG to set up. I took the truck and the kids to Smithers, where we stayed with Uncle Harold’s family. I got Rebecca’s room, she got Hannah’s room, Hannah and Elise got the playroom and Luke got the freezer room. We each had a place to sleep. 
We were able to go to Ebenezer School on their last day before holidays (we started a week earlier) and watch the exciting basketball games, especially Grade 12 vs the staff. My brothers played fiercely and the staff won! 



Harold’s family can walk to school. This is amazing. I may be jealous. 

Lots of good memories! We really get along well and appreciated being able to visit.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
