Micah and Stephanie’s Engagement Party




Micah and Stephanie got engaged!!! They are planning an August wedding. They came here for a weekend so we could share their joy with an engagement party. 
All the local family came, along with the Bijkerks, Schuttes, John DeRoo, Joop and Grace, and I can’t remember who else. Stacy skipped a VanOort lunch to help me set up❤️ as I was feeling overwhelmed.  I served a soup and bun dinner party, with Aunty Dar and Grandma each bringing a pan of soup to help out. Oma and Opa were on an Alberta road trip, so they missed out. 
Marlise Bijkerk came early to help and Grace and Stacy spearheaded the cleanup. It was wonderful to have this help when I was really missing Val, Tonisha, Nelly-Jayne and Oma. 









Also super nice- we got to watch Valerie sing and play violin in a beautiful concert in Winnipeg. ❤️

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
