Our First Mexican Excusion

This was our fifth time in Mexico- but the first time we even wanted to book an excursion.  After a few days of reading and relaxing, we booked a day trip on a catamaran to Isla Mujeres, an island off Cancun’s shore. The sail included food and beverages, snorkeling and ocean breezes. We ended up having to wait 40 minutes for a late crowd to arrive to fill our boat, which meant our crew used the engine to save time and cut out snorkeling time short- however, it was still thrilling and beautiful! While we had to wait to dock on the island, we had the opportunity to jump off the boat and swim, using a guide rope to fight the current back to the ladder.  The water was turquoise, warm and amazing!
On the island, we bargained ourselves a decent deal on a golf cart rental ($50/2hours, fuel included) thanks to the catamaran crew’s knowledge of going rates. We drove the perimeter, got out for a quick walk to see the view at the southern tip, and had a great time.
This was a highlight kind of day. ❤️
