Things We Made

Luke and Elise had a rare but great Playmobil afternoon. 

Luke’s  garden produced cucumbers, so my ambitious son did some research and learned to make pickles. They had too much salt, but otherwise turned out quite good. 

Charlie died in the summer right before Micah left for good. Elise made a memorial book for Micah. ❤️

We made preparations for the arrival of sweet Hazel. It was great to have baby toys out again!

These helpers made jam tarts in anticipation of our Thanksgiving guests’ arrival, and I made beds. Fun tasks because of the joy we have in getting our kids back home. 


We tried to make a puzzle, but as always, we needed Opa and Oma to come finish it. 

I did some baking too. Can’t leave it all to Luke and Elise.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Deciding that Truth and Reconciliation were really not our issue, we went to PG to enjoy a long weekend with Jared’s family. Even Caleb came along! The men went to work tackling the winter wood supple while we ladies ran the home front. I did get to try the log splitter, but Luke, with his broken arm, was very busy with that job when he wasn’t driving the tractor. By the end of the day, the logs were beautifully stacked. Caleb had this responsibility and did a great job.

Little things

Campground map- very helpful  Dad and I snuck off for one walk together in the week. It was fun! And beautiful.  Family photo❤️ The whole group! It was wonderful to camp together.  Val doing paddleboard headstands. Impressive! The kayaks were well used.  The Nature House always had interesting things for Elise, plus some neat programs. Most of us went to one on bears.  Joshua is so loved! Uncle Luke absolutely loves being an uncle.
